Iker Zabala's team set the pace from start to finish, clearly winning a time trial race challenged by the wind. Competing in the final heat alongside Zierbena, the 'amarillos' progressively improved their rivals' times to build a decisive advantage. Orio crossed the finish line with a time of 19:40.52, securing the season's first flag. Zierbena finished nearly eight seconds behind.
In the same heat, Naiz Homes Donostiarra and Bermeo started a minute earlier. The Biscayan team carried a ten-second penalty from a start irregularity, which affected their race. Both teams posted modest times at the first turn but partially recovered with a favorable wind on the return leg.
Donostiarra managed to keep pace with Bermeo for a significant portion of the course, but only in the final stretch did they manage to open a slight lead. Bermeo, penalized and without a chance to reach the top heat, focused on beating Getaria to avoid losing positions, achieving this by more than a second.
In the second heat, featuring San Juan CMO Valves, Getaria, Orsa Hondarribia, and Lekittarra, the spotlight was on the Gipuzkoan duel between Getaria and Hondarribia. Getaria delivered a very solid performance, leading the heat from the midpoint. After an even first leg, both boats arrived at the first turn at the same time. However, in the second leg, Getaria created differences and managed their lead to the finish.
Hondarribia never lost sight of the race and reduced the gap in the final stretch, but could not prevent the 'Esperantza' boat from winning the heat by less than two seconds. San Juan CMO Valves finished ahead of Lekittarra after a race that improved over time, even surpassing Ondarroa's times in the final stretch.
The day began with the two newly promoted boats, Itsasoko Ama and Chapela, followed a minute later by Ondarroa and Ares. Ondarroa clearly dominated their heat, setting a strong pace from the start and quickly overtaking Ares, even placing ahead of several boats from the second heat, such as Lekittarra. Ares, meanwhile, steadily lost ground and finished twelfth.
In the duel between Chapela and Itsasoko Ama, the Biscayan team took the initiative from the first leg, establishing an initial three-second lead that they progressively extended, finishing with a six-second difference and consolidating their superiority in that direct confrontation.
The Eusko Label League starts far away, the first flag goes to Orio Orialki.
