Last Thursday afternoon, the waters of Orio hosted the fourth round of the Gipuzkoa Trainerilla League, where rowers from cadet, junior, and absolute categories participated. In this competition, Orio's teams demonstrated excellent performance, especially in the absolute category.
In the women's absolute category, Orio presented two boats, Orio A and Orio B. The Orio A team secured second place with a time of 15 minutes and 42.14 seconds, only behind San Juan (15:30.14). The Zumaia team finished in fourth place, and Orio's second boat came in fifth.
In the men's absolute category, both Cup and League rounds were contested. In the League, Orio was the fastest with a time of 13 minutes and 38.40 seconds, followed by the Getaria boat (14:05.29). Zarautz, meanwhile, finished in fourth place (14:28.57). Regarding the Cup results, Orio's B and C boats were the fastest, with times of 13:51.73 and 13:56.39 respectively, securing fourth and fifth places ahead of the other two Zarautz boats.
The rowing events do not end here, as today, in Getaria, coinciding with Fisherman's Day, rowers will compete for the Anchovy Day Flag starting at 11:00 AM. Several boats will participate, including those from Getaria, Orio, Zarautz, and Zumaia.
