The lecture will be given by Jon Sarasua, Iñaki Iurrebaso, and Xabier Aierdi, starting at 7:00 PM, under the title Euskara eta immigrazioa: aukerak eta erronkak (Basque and Immigration: Opportunities and Challenges). This session will explore the complex relationship between the Basque language and immigration, addressing both the opportunities it creates and the challenges it presents.
Jon Sarasua, coordinator of Euskaltzaindia's Euskararen Gogoetagunea project and professor at Mondragon University, was the one who opened the Naziogintza cycle last January. Following him, in February, it was the turn of Amande Anin, head of the evaluation mission of the Public Office for the Basque Language, who spoke about the linguistic situation in Ipar Euskal Herria.
In March, Miren Segurola, coordinator of UEMA, delivered a lecture titled UEMA: Euskararen lurgunea josten (UEMA: Weaving the territory of the Basque language), providing an update on UEMA's evolution and functions. The cycle has so far offered diverse perspectives on the language's situation.
After tomorrow's session, the fifth and final discussion of the cycle will be held on May 12. Kike Amonarriz will speak about the successful evolution of the Basque language in Tolosa (Gipuzkoa), sharing a positive experience.
