The Getaria Town Council has progressed in the review process of its General Urban Planning Plan (HAPO), publicly presenting the draft of the new plan, with a period for citizen contributions open until June 8.

This strategic document will guide the development of Getaria in the coming years, looking towards 2045, with the aim of making the town better connected, more sustainable, and more livable. After completing the socio-urbanistic diagnosis, the presented advance establishes the foundations for the future of the locality.
The draft addresses major current challenges, such as improving mobility, enhancing the quality of public spaces, and adapting housing supply. In this regard, proposals include the reorganization of public spaces, measures to improve accessibility, and new infrastructures that will facilitate daily life.
The document has already been published in the Official Gazette of Gipuzkoa (BOG), which has opened a period until June 8 for citizens to submit their contributions and suggestions. The presented advance is a discussion document, aiming to be enriched by the feedback received.
To promote participation, the Council has organized various informational and participatory activities. An open presentation for citizens will be held on May 5, at 6:30 PM, at Zarautz Palace, offering the opportunity to learn about the plan firsthand and provide feedback. Additionally, throughout May, plans and documentation will be on display at the town hall entrance, and interested citizens can download the document from the municipal website or consult it at the town hall itself.

Citizen participation will be fundamental in the development of the plan, and making contributions is essential to collectively build the future of Getaria.
