In this final session of the lecture series, several experts will participate to address the question of the energy model desired by Azpeitia. Speakers will include a researcher in renewable energies, an engineer from an energy generation group, and a climate activist.
According to the organizers, greenhouse gas emissions in Azpeitia have decreased over the last decade due to the closure of large industries. However, they have pointed out that to achieve climate neutrality, emissions would need to be reduced by between 40% and 45%. Currently, renewable energies cover only 0.69% of the municipality's total energy consumption.

The "Urola Erdia ispiluaren aurrean" campaign is an initiative launched by the six municipalities of Urola Erdia –Azkoitia, Azpeitia, Beizama, Errezil, Zestoa, and Aizarnazabal–, the development agency Iraurgi Berritzen, and the public society Laien. The campaign aims to promote sustainability and reflect on climate change.
Previous sessions have included debates on mobility and territorial planning in Azkoitia and Zestoa. Following the session on Azpeitia's energy model, the campaign will move to the next phase, with town-by-town workshops with citizens. The Azpeitia workshop will take place on May 6 in Azoka Plaza.
