Azpeitia will host a debate session on the sustainable energy model next Tuesday at Basazabal Palace, as part of the "Urola Erdia ispiluaren aurrean" campaign.

In this final session of the lecture series, several experts will participate to address the question of the energy model desired by Azpeitia. Speakers will include a researcher in renewable energies, an engineer from an energy generation group, and a climate activist.
According to the organizers, greenhouse gas emissions in Azpeitia have decreased over the last decade due to the closure of large industries. However, they have pointed out that to achieve climate neutrality, emissions would need to be reduced by between 40% and 45%. Currently, renewable energies cover only 0.69% of the municipality's total energy consumption.
