The deadline for submitting nominations for the annual Sports Awards, presented at the end of the year, is now open in Azpeitia. The City Council began awarding these prizes in 2000 and has held the event every year since, except in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, nominations can be submitted in three categories: Sportsman of the Year (male category), Sportswoman of the Year (female category), and Volunteer of the Year. The deadline for submitting proposals is November 15, and candidates must be submitted via the following online form.
Once the nomination period closes, citizens and clubs will be able to vote among the proposed candidates from November 18 to 25. This year's awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, December 17, at 7:00 PM, at the Sanagustin kulturgunea.
Last year, the recipients were the absolute women's team of Izarraitz Igeri Elkartea, the Arauntza Riders mountain bike team, and volunteers from Ilunpe Pilota Elkartea.
