Tomorrow, April 14, the Elkargune in Azkoitia will host a talk at 6:30 PM to discuss a more balanced coexistence between pedestrians and cars in the town's streets.

This lecture is part of a campaign launched late last year by six municipalities in Urola ErdiaAzkoitia, Azpeitia, Beizama, Errezil, Zestoa, and Aizarnazabal–, in collaboration with Iraurgi Berritzen and Laiene, which manages the new services of the Lapatx landfill. The campaign aims to encourage residents of the region to reflect on energy models, sovereignty, and mobility.
This series of talks will take place between April 14 and 28, with one session each in Azkoitia, Azpeitia, and Zestoa, with the Azkoitia event being the first. Organizers have invited residents from all Urola Erdia towns to participate, seeking to include the realities and contributions of smaller towns like Beizama, Aizarnazabal, and Errezil to develop a comprehensive regional perspective.
The panel discussion in Azkoitia will feature three experts: Ander Gortazar, Urban Planning professor at EHU and founder of RAZ office; Ibon Rosales, municipal architect of Lasarte-Oria with experience in urban mobility policies; and Diego Gomez, geographer and member of INTRA, specializing in mobility studies. Andoni Elduaien, a journalist from Guka, will moderate the session.

The talks will be spaces to learn different perspectives and share opinions, and will also serve as a starting point for the participatory work sessions that will be held later in each municipality.

In these sessions, citizens will have the opportunity to analyze the situation of the region and its towns, develop proposals, and agree on priorities for a more sustainable mobility model.
