Ander Olaizola Appointed Secretary General of EGI Gipuzkoa for 2026-2028 Term

Ander Olaizola, a councilor from Zumaia, will assume the position of Secretary General of EGI Gipuzkoa for the next two years, as decided at the youth organization's assembly.

Ander Olaizola, a native of Zumaia, has been appointed Secretary General of EGI Gipuzkoa for the term spanning 2026 to 2028, a decision made at the territorial assembly of the Jeltzale youth organization held on March 21 in Beasain.

Olaizola, 27, has a background in industrial engineering. His experience includes participating in the Zumaia Music Band and playing and coaching for the Pulpo handball team. A firm believer in the role of youth in Basque politics, he has served as a councilor in the Zumaia City Council since the 2023 municipal elections.
During the same assembly, EGI Gipuzkoa elected its new Regional Council. The following members will assume provincial responsibilities until 2028: Ander Olaizola as Secretary, alongside Danel Odriozola (Ordizia), Lander Colas (Hondarribia), Lide Irurzun (Astigarraga), Eider Goia (Donostia, Alde Zaharra), Amaia Peon (Donostia, Antigua), Eneko Rosado (Donostia, Gros), Gorka Sanchez (Oñati), Nora Pedrosa (Deba), Joxan Mendizabal (Azkoitia), and Bingen Aranbarri (Azkoitia).
