23rd Azpeitia Hiria Classic Car Rally Kicks Off with 75 Cars

The vehicles will complete a 230-kilometer route through Gipuzkoa's roads in tribute to Maykel del Cid.

The 23rd edition of the Azpeitia Hiria rally commenced this morning, with 75 classic cars starting individually from the parking area in front of the courthouse in Azpeitia at 11:00 AM. The event, a tribute to Maykel del Cid, will traverse roads in Gipuzkoa.

The 23rd edition of the Azpeitia Hiria rally is underway this morning. 75 classic cars are participating in the event and began their individual departures at 11:00 AM from the parking area in front of the courthouse in Azpeitia. Prior to the start, the vehicles were on display, drawing a large crowd eager to admire them. The Lagun Artea team has organized this rally in tribute to Maykel del Cid.
The participating cars will need to complete a 230-kilometer route through the roads of Gipuzkoa. The route will pass through several towns, including Azpeitia, Bidania-Goiatz, Orendain, Gabiria, and Mutiloa. Several stops are also planned, such as a 20-minute break at the Salbatore restaurant, a two-hour stop from 2:00 PM at the Aitxuri restaurant in Legazpi, and a one-hour stop in Zarautz at 6:00 PM.
Organizers anticipate the first car will arrive in Azpeitia around 8:00 PM. Once all cars have reached the finish line, an awards ceremony will be held in the same parking area in front of the courthouse.
