Azpeitia has chosen Basque dances as the theme for this year's children's float. The Festival Committee has announced a competition, with the winner receiving a 1,500 euro prize.

The Festival Committee of the Azpeitia City Council has decided that Basque dances will be the theme for this year's children's float. The float, which will parade on San Sebastian Day to conclude the children's tamborrada, and the shepherd and fairy parade, will feature this theme. This decision was made considering the presence of local dancers in the town's main festivals and the fact that the Itsatsi and Sahatsa dance groups are celebrating their 50th anniversary.
The competition is open to all individuals and groups, and works can be created using any technique or material. Projects must be original creations, and the author will be solely responsible. Furthermore, the float's design proposal must consider a gender perspective, acknowledging the specific situations, needs, interests, intentions, and problems of both women and men.
The float's dimensions will be 2.80 m in width, 3.85 m in length, and 3.20 m in height. Submissions must be anonymous, with the author's details (ID, address, phone number, and CV) provided in a separate envelope. The deadline for submitting preliminary projects is November 27. The jury, composed of five people, will select a single project, and the winner will receive a 1,500 euro prize. If the submitted projects are deemed to lack sufficient quality or value by the jury, the competition may be declared void.
Projects should be sent to the Azpeitia City Council, at the following address: Azpeitia City Council. Festival Committee. Enparantza nagusia, 5. 20.730 Azpeitia.
