This year's call has been released earlier than usual, aiming to streamline the processing of aid. In total, the Tolosa City Council will distribute around 900,000 euros across 21 grant lines, both competitive and non-competitive, although in some instances, larger amounts may be allocated.
These grants cover several important areas, including housing, urban planning, social services, Basque language promotion, culture, youth, equality, sports, commerce, and economic development. The details and guidelines for each line can be consulted on the municipal website.
In addition to this call, the council will also provide designated grants, which are directly assigned to specific associations. Other grants, such as those related to carnivals or education, are published at different times of the year.
Several significant changes have been introduced in this call compared to last year. In the housing sector, the budget for rental assistance and the rehabilitation of vacant homes has increased from 58,800 euros to 90,000 euros. The application period has also been adjusted, now running from mid-June to mid-July, instead of August.
For urban planning, the grants have been extended to cover the entire municipality, allowing residents in rural areas to also apply for housing rehabilitation subsidies. In social services, an additional 15,000 euros have been allocated to non-profit organizations working in this field. In the commercial sector, the possibility of increasing the grant pools for promoting new businesses (Ekin) and business transfers (Berriz) has been established.
The application period for most grant lines is already open. Applications can be submitted online through the municipal electronic office or in person at UDATE, the citizen service office. Deadlines vary for each grant, but the shortest period is 20 natural days, meaning that in some cases, procedures must be completed before April 30.
