According to socialist spokesperson Josean Sánchez, EH Bildu has shown a «lack of will» to launch this service, despite the opportunity being offered to all municipalities in Gipuzkoa last summer. This situation forces residents to travel to other locations, with the inconveniences that this entails.
“"Zizurkil cannot be left behind or lose the opportunity to facilitate citizens in carrying out daily administrative procedures, especially for people with mobility difficulties. It is incomprehensible that this service has not yet been requested. Therefore, we ask the government to explain if there is political ideology behind its position."
Sánchez has reminded that the issuance of DNI and passports is an exclusive competence of the National Police, which has the technical means for it, so there are no impediments for the service to be provided in Zizurkil. Furthermore, he pointed out that eight municipalities in Gipuzkoa already offer this service, with great success, having issued more than 950 documents.
