The union claims that the agreement signed with the Department of Education in 2023, promising salary parity, has not been fulfilled for several categories.

The LAB union has called for one-hour work stoppages this Thursday in Basque Country Ikastolas to protest the alleged non-compliance with the labor agreement signed with the Department of Education in June 2023.

According to the LAB union, the labor agreement signed with the Department of Education in June 2023 stipulated the complete equalization of salaries for all Ikastola staff with those in the public network by 2027. However, the union claims that salary updates made since 2025 have excluded several categories, including educators in the first cycle of Early Childhood Education and staff in administration, dining, cleaning, maintenance, and transport.
Furthermore, LAB has pointed out that the planned study for the homologation of working conditions for Ikastola staff has not even begun. Consequently, the union believes the salary gap has widened.

"We have called for one-hour work stoppages in the Ikastolas for Thursday to demand the fulfillment of the labor agreement."
