The Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, through the public company Etorlur and in collaboration with the Bidania-Goiatz City Council, will develop the promotion of eight regulated public housing units in the municipality, to be offered under ownership.

This promotion is part of the strategy promoted by the Provincial Council to foster public housing in small municipalities (under 1,000 inhabitants), aiming to guarantee housing access opportunities and strengthen social cohesion in rural areas.
The project will be carried out in the urban center of Bidania-Goiatz and includes eight homes with two and three bedrooms, designed to offer quality, functionality, and affordable prices, responding to the demand from those wishing to establish a life project in the municipality. The promotion also includes storage rooms and parking spaces, reinforcing the functionality of the homes and ensuring the proper integration of the new building into the municipality's urban environment.
The initiative is framed within the strategy to prevent depopulation in small municipalities, improve the conditions of available housing, and promote balanced and sustainable rural development. Furthermore, it is supported by the legal framework provided by the law on urgent measures in housing matters, approved by the Basque Parliament last November, which allows for the promotion of public housing under ownership in municipalities with fewer than 3,000 inhabitants.
Additionally, the Bidania-Goiatz project joins promotions that the Provincial Council has already undertaken in other small municipalities, such as the one in Abaltzisketa. New housing developments are planned in five other small municipalities, promoting the rehabilitation of underutilized urban land and buildings instead of occupying new developable land. Initially, 46 homes are planned for construction in Abaltzisketa (10), Bidania-Goiatz (8), Gaztelu (4), Altzo (12), Alkiza (8), and Beizama (4). Etorlur continues to work with other municipalities in analyzing buildings and land to launch further projects.
