The Zizurkil City Council, along with Danena Kirol Taldea and Aiztondo Neskide Kirol Taldea, has signed an agreement to coordinate the use of the Danena football pitch. This new agreement will be valid until May 1, 2030, and its main objective is to foster collaboration and teamwork between both clubs, ensuring that the municipality's young people continue to have a suitable space for sports practice.
Previously, Danena Kirol Taldea was the primary user of the facilities, through an agreement renewed every four years. In this year's renewal, the City Council has also included Aiztondo Neskide Kirol Taldea, a women's football and volleyball team established in 2022, which has played its matches at the Danena pitch since then.
The signing ceremony was attended by Zizurkil's mayor, Maite Amenabar, Josu Sarasola representing Danena, and Ane Lasa representing Neskide. The City Council's goal is to maximize the use of sports facilities, and to this end, it seeks to facilitate coexistence and organization between both clubs.
Furthermore, the agreement includes commitments to promote the use of Basque language and gender equality, as both clubs have pledged to champion these values. As highlighted by Mayor Maite Amenabar, "both are essential values for the City Council".
This year is special for both teams: Aiztondo Neskide is about to celebrate its fifth anniversary, while Danena is commemorating its 50th anniversary. The City Council has signed the agreement with great enthusiasm, hoping that many more athletes will continue to grow and enjoy at the Danena football pitch in the future. Additionally, children participating in school sports will also be able to use the Danena football pitch.
