Álex González, the 45-year-old actor, has seized a break from filming the new comedy by Mar Olid in San Sebastián for a culinary treat. This past weekend, the performer visited one of Gipuzkoa's gastronomic temples: Casa Julián, located in Tolosa. The actor shared his experience on social media, featuring a tantalizing video of the restaurant's famous grill.
González arrived in Donostia in April for the filming of 'Si te he visto no me acuerdo' (provisional title), where he stars alongside Maxi Iglesias, Silvia Alonso, and Aitziber Garmendia. For these weeks, the actor has made the capital of Gipuzkoa his temporary home, staying in a central San Sebastián hotel. From there, he has been able to enjoy the anonymity and respect offered by locals during his walks and training sessions.
However, his latest excursion led him to Tolosa, specifically to Santa Klara street. Here stands Casa Julián, an establishment that has kept alive the tradition initiated by its founder, Julián, since 1951, and is now continued by master grill chefs Matías and Xabier. The images shared by the actor showcase the mastery of fire and handling of embers that have made this steakhouse a benchmark. The footage also shows a prime 'chuletón' being cooked.
Álex González's visit to this steakhouse is no coincidence, as the establishment is globally renowned for its 'txuleta' and iconic piquillo peppers. It is likely that the actor, accompanied by his partner, influencer Carla Virgós, sought to replenish his energy after intense workdays in locations such as the Old Town of Donostia or Orio.
Despite his packed filming schedule, which will continue until mid-June, González is making the most of the region's offerings. As the actor himself confessed a few days ago, he greatly values the tranquility of the region, which allows him to enjoy culinary gems like Casa Julián without the usual crowds found in other major cities.
