Alegia Hosts Pelota and Basketball Tournaments, Plus Street Show

This weekend, Alegia will feature pelota matches, a 3x3 basketball tournament, and a street performance by the Trapu Zaharra group.

The Elorri fronton in Alegia is set to be a hub of sports and cultural activity this weekend, featuring pelota and 3x3 basketball tournaments, as well as a street performance by the Trapu Zaharra group.

Today, Friday, the Alegia team will compete against Eibar in the second round of the Inter-village Rubber Pelota Championship. Matches will take place at the Elorri fronton, starting at 7:45 PM, including individual, doubles, and individual within the 7 categories.
Additionally, before these main matches, hand pelota games (individual and doubles) will be played from 6:00 PM. In the men's second division infant category, Intxur will face Gazteleku. Following this, in the men's second division cadet category (four and a half), Azpilikueta from Intxurre will play against Juantorena from Tolosa, and Mendia from Intxurre against Anza from Mundarro.
On Sunday, the Elorri fronton will host three more matches of the Inter-village Hand Pelota Championship, as part of the return leg between Alegia and Aretxabaleta.
To complement the sports offerings, the Elorri Aldapa Basketball Club has organized a 3x3 basketball tournament for junior and cadet age groups. The championship will be held next Saturday, May 16th, at the Elorri fronton, starting at 4:00 PM. Mixed teams of four players are allowed, with at least two of them being in the junior category. The deadline for registration is May 9th.
In the cultural sphere, the Trapu Zaharra group will present their street show Azkena eta bagoaz this afternoon in the town square, beginning at 7:00 PM.
