Aiztondo Pilota Topaketa Finals to be Held This Saturday in Usarrabi

Four hand-pelota doubles finals, from pre-junior to junior categories, will conclude the 27th edition at the Usarrabi fronton in Asteasu.

The finals of the 27th edition of the Aiztondo Pilota Topaketa will be held this Saturday, April 19, at the Usarrabi fronton in Asteasu, starting at 4:00 PM, across four different categories.

After months of competition, this Saturday, April 19, marks the culmination of the 27th Aiztondo Pilota Topaketa. The Usarrabi fronton in Asteasu will host the final matches, featuring four hand-pelota doubles finals, ranging from pre-junior to junior categories.
This edition has seen participation from boys and girls representing various pelota schools, including Behar Zana Pilota Taldea from Amasa-Villabona, Txulobi from Aduna, Ziotza from Zizurkil, Atzapar from Asteasu, and the pelota schools of Alkiza and Larraul. The finals are scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM with the pre-junior match.
In the first final, the pair of Arrastoa and Arroyo from Amasa-Villabona will compete against Sansinena and Aranzabe from Alkiza. Following this, in the junior category final, Aburuza and Elola from Aduna will face San Sebastián and Eizmendi from Alkiza. In the cadet category, Sansinena and Agirrezabala from Alkiza will play against Queralt and Traore from Amasa-Villabona. Finally, the infant category will feature representation from four towns: Urruzola and Letxundi from Alkiza and Asteasu will challenge Ibarbia and Barriola from Zizurkil and Aduna.
At the conclusion of the pelota festival, raffles will be held among all participants. The organizers anticipate a vibrant atmosphere during the five finals, with the presence of numerous pelota players who have taken part in the Topaketa and their families. Therefore, fans from the valley are also invited to attend the event.
