Agurain hosted the Basque Security Forum focused on the security of the Llanada Alavesa this afternoon. The meeting brought together around 30 social, economic, and institutional representatives from the region to gather experiences and proposals for improving the joint response to present and future security challenges. Key topics included prevention, emergency management, cybersecurity, road safety, and coexistence.
The event saw broad participation, including the presence of the Security Councillor, Bingen Zupiria, and the Provincial Deputy for Equality, Basque Language, and Governance of Araba, Iñaki Gurtubai. Institutional representatives from the municipalities of Agurain, Alegria-Dulantzi, Asparrena, Barrundia, Elburgo, Iruraiz-Gauna, San Millán, and Zalduondo also attended, along with local agents from the Llanada Alavesa cuadrilla, administrative boards, heads of the Ertzaintza and local police, Civil Protection, Osakidetza, and associations for rural development, commerce, educational centers, and local businesses.
This meeting is part of the participatory process of the Basque Security Forum, marking its twenty-ninth session. Previous encounters have taken place in the regions of Txorierri, Hernanialdea, Urdaibai, Urola Garaia, Uribe Kosta, Urola Erdia, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Ibaizabal, Bidasoa, Mungialdea, Goierri, Debagoiena, Meatzaldea, Rioja and Montaña Alavesa, Oarsoaldea, Bilbao, Aiaraldea, Urola Kosta, Lea-Artibai, Ezkerraldea, Debabarrena, Enkarterri, Araba, Gipuzkoa, and Bizkaia, as well as a session with young people.
The forum aims to build a shared diagnosis of security from an integral perspective, serving as a meeting point for various institutions, entities, and agents to address their security concerns.
