This program is aimed at all audiences, with the main objective of promoting reading and responding to the leisure and cultural needs of all citizens. Registration, which is free and valid for the entire course, will be open from September 9 to 18, inclusive.
Interested individuals can consult the range of activities on the municipal website or register in person at the library itself, located in Plaza de San Juan.
Participation requires being a member of the Irun Library or any library within the Public Reading Network of the Basque Country (RLPE). For children's activities, the established age range must also be met.
A new feature this year is that residency in Irun will be considered when allocating places, giving priority to registered members residing in the municipality.
Initially, participants can pre-register for only one workshop. If registering for more than one, a preference order must be indicated, with a maximum of three workshops. If places are insufficient, allocation will be done by lottery.
Activities will commence on October 2. The planned program includes reading clubs such as CluBA, Club de Lectura, Literatura de mujeres del mundo, Irakurle Txokoa, and Book Club; creative writing workshops, with the new 'Zuk zeuk idatzi – sormen idazketa' workshop this year; a poetry workshop; French conversation groups and 'ambigüinglish' for English practice; and art-based emotional support proposals for adults and for children aged 7 to 11.
