Leioa Auzoetan program resumes to gather neighborhood improvement proposals

The Leioa Auzoetan program, a citizen participation initiative launched last year, is once again touring the municipality's neighborhoods. The aim is for residents to directly voice the improvements they deem necessary in their immediate surroundings.

This year, the areas of Leioandi, Elexalde, Iparragirre, Sabino Arana, Independentzia, and Luis Bilbao Líbano will receive the first round, from October 12 to 25. They will be followed by Lamiako, Txopoeta, and Ibaiondo, on the same dates. From October 27 to November 9, the initiative will cover Kandelazubieta and Iparragirre Zeharkalea, and finally, the neighborhoods of Udondo, Ondiz, Txorierri, Aketxe, and Begoñako Ama will complete the fourth sector, coinciding with the third phase's dates.

The proposals submitted must focus on specific needs and improvements for each area, provided they are actions that can be carried out with the municipal budget allocated for minor works, repairs, and enhancements.

To facilitate participation, the council will provide various channels: mailboxes installed in the neighborhoods, the SAC offices of the City Council and Gaztelubide, and an online questionnaire available on the municipal website.

Additionally, information points will be set up in the participating areas:
• October 14: from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Euskal Etxeen square (Plaza de la Estrella) and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bulevar Bidebarri.
• October 15: from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Lamiako station and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Txopoeta laundry.
• October 28: from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Kandelazubieta sports center and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Travesía Iparragirre.
• October 29: from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the La Carbonera parking lot and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Plaza Manuel Irujo.

The collected proposals will be evaluated by municipal services to determine their feasibility and to proceed with the improvements that can be implemented.
