The Barakaldo Local Police have arrested three men linked to violent robberies, one involving an assault on a customer with a hammer and air pistol, and two others for attempting to steal from a van.

The Barakaldo Local Police have arrested three men involved in various violent robberies. According to information from the Barakaldo City Council, one of the arrests occurred after an assault with a hammer and an air pistol in a commercial establishment, while the other two detainees were caught attempting to steal from a van and assaulted its owner.
The first arrest took place on Sunday, around 13:00 hours, after the Barakaldo Local Police received a report of an assault on a customer in a shop on Avenida de la Libertad. Based on initial information, two men entered the establishment with the intention of stealing from the storage area. When surprised by a customer, both violently attacked him: one hit him on the head with a hammer, and the other shot him several times with an air pistol.
After the assault, one of the perpetrators fled but was intercepted by Local Police officers as he tried to enter the metro, thanks to citizen cooperation. At the time of his arrest, an air pistol, allegedly used in the attack, was confiscated. On Tuesday, the second individual involved was located and transferred to police facilities for his indictment in the events. As a result of the assault, the victim was taken to Cruces Hospital with an incised-contused wound to the head, where he remained under observation for several hours.
Furthermore, Ángel Madrazo, the delegated councilor for Citizen Security of the Barakaldo City Council, reported the arrest of two other men during the night of Monday to Tuesday, at 00:15 hours, on Juntas Generales street. In this instance, several citizens alerted the Local Police that two men were assaulting a third. Upon arrival, police patrols subdued the aggressors. The victim stated that he had caught both attempting to steal from his van and that, when he reprimanded their behavior, they began to beat him. In both incidents, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities after the completion of police proceedings, and were subsequently released.
