Just like last season, Surne Bilbao and PAOK Thessaloniki will vie for the FIBA Europe Cup title. The Greek team, having eliminated UCAM Murcia, is eager for revenge after the 'men in black' lifted the trophy last year at Palataki.
This time, Thessaloniki will host the first leg, which already has a confirmed schedule. The FIBA Europe Cup announced this Thursday via its website that the initial final match between Jaume Ponsarnau's team and Pantelis Boutskos's squad will take place on Wednesday, April 22, in Greece, starting at 18:15 (Euskadi time). The return leg, to be played seven days later and deciding the champion at Bilbao Arena, does not yet have an official time assigned.
Last season, the Bizkaia team successfully leveraged their seven-point advantage from the Bilbao Arena in the fervent atmosphere of Palataki. Now, they dream of the possibility of being crowned champions at home, in front of their fans, with over 10,000 dedicated members of the 'black tide'.
Furthermore, the Miribilla entity is working to provide its fans, likely by early next week, detailed information on how to obtain tickets for both matches and potential travel options to Thessaloniki, including the possibility of a charter flight, similar to last year.
