Two associations in Basauri, Sorgina Kultur Elkartea and Kukurrustu Kirol Cluba, have joined forces to organize a solidarity march on April 19 on Mount Malmasin, aiming to raise funds for children affected by CTNNB1 syndrome, a rare disease.

CTNNB1 syndrome is a rare disease affecting two children in Basauri. In 2021, a group of parents whose children suffered from this condition created an association to raise funds for research and treatment. Since then, Basauri residents have shown great support for the entity, organizing numerous solidarity events, such as the one scheduled for Sunday, April 19.

Sorgina Kultur Elkartea and Kukurrustu Kirol Cluba have joined forces to achieve greater participation in the day of celebration and sport they have organized on Mount Malmasin.

Sorgina is bringing the eleventh edition of the Mendi Martxa del Kalero, a mountain walk for all ages, starting from the Kalero neighborhood in Basauri, near the metro station, covering ten kilometers with an elevation gain of 384 meters. Meanwhile, Kukurrustu is holding the 10K, a race that follows the same route but demands greater physical exertion.
Pre-registration for both events is already available on Sorgina's website, and it is mandatory for the 10K race. Participants must confirm their presence on Sunday from 9:00 AM at the designated stand on Karmelo Torre Street. A two-euro donation is required, which includes a ticket for the raffle to be held at the end of the morning. The walk and race will take place between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, followed by other activities such as trampolines, children's workshops, and a pintxopote, all accompanied by music.
Throughout the day, tickets for the charity raffle will be available for purchase, with the draw scheduled for 2:00 PM. All proceeds from the raffle, the walk, and the pintxopote will go to the CTNNB1 association, which will also be present at the event.
