The Bilbao Symphony Orchestra (BOS) will present 'Orkresta', a special concert on April 10 at the Euskalduna Palace, reinterpreting popular songs from the Bilbao BBK Live festival in a symphonic format.

This unique performance will be conducted by Richard Balcombe and is part of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the music festival. Organizers have announced that over 80 musicians will bring to life more than 15 songs by artists and bands who have performed at the festival, “reinterpreting in a symphonic key some of the anthems heard at Kobetamendi”.
The Bilbao Symphony Orchestra will transform the songs using string, wind, and percussion instruments, “translating the festival's energy into orchestral language”. This initiative pays tribute to the festival's journey and the emotional connection between artists, audience, and the city, while also inviting new audiences to experience symphonic music.

It is a tribute to the festival's trajectory and the emotional connection that unites artists, audience, and the city, as well as an invitation to bring symphonic music closer to new audiences.

The repertoire will include tracks such as 'Just Like Heaven' (The Cure), 'Enjoy the Silence' (Depeche Mode), 'Wake Up' (Arcade Fire), 'La Perla' (Rosalia), 'Last Nite' (The Strokes), 'Sweet Child O' Mine' (Guns N' Roses), 'Roxanne' (The Police), 'Common People' (Pulp), and 'Viva La Vida' (Coldplay), among others.
The project is supported by BBK, the Department of Basque Language, Culture and Sports of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, Kutxabank, and San Miguel. Tickets, priced between 18 and 30 euros, are available on the festival's website.
