The Ertzaintza is investigating the origin of a shot allegedly fired at a patrol from the Muskiz police station in a wooded area next to the A-8 highway in Santurtzi, with no officers sustaining injuries.

The incident occurred around half past ten on Friday night. Officers from a citizen security patrol were inspecting a suspicious abandoned car near the weighbridge, close to the highway. This vehicle had been located in the afternoon with five individuals inside who had police records. The car was being driven by a young person without a license.
As the autonomous Police officers were inspecting the car, another vehicle appeared with several women on board. It was at that moment, while they were identifying the occupants, that a possible shotgun blast was heard from the wooded area behind them.
The officers requested support from other Muskiz patrols, and the Immediate Intervention Patrol (PRI), with agents specialized in armed interventions, was also mobilized. During the operation, about twenty people were identified in the vicinity, although none were carrying weapons.
