In the near future, Sestao aims to achieve much more fluid mobility, making it easier and more practical to move between different points in the town. To this end, in the medium term, the Sestao City Council will shape a new Mobility Ordinance that will lay the foundations for the progress the municipality will experience in this area.
In the initial phase of drafting this regulation, the Sestao City Council wants to gather the opinions, ideas, and suggestions of its citizens. For this purpose, the local institution has opened a public hearing period to collect input from residents, organizations, and groups within the municipality. The deadline for submitting alternatives to the draft ordinance is May 1st.
Contributions can be sent to the Sestao City Council via the email address ordenantzak@sestao.eus. To provide a suitable basis for citizens to make their contributions, the Sestao City Council has published both the draft of the future Mobility and Traffic Ordinance and the document regulating the hearing period on its website.
With this new document, Sestao seeks to look to both the future and the present. This new ordinance will aim to give greater prominence to bicycle use in the town and also regulate the use of new means of transport that have emerged recently, such as electric scooters. The commitment to more sustainable transport methods will be firm in the final drafting of this ordinance.
