PSE-EE Secretary General Eneko Andueza has stated that agreements with the PNV are a "formula for success" and that the PSE "will be in that formula for success for as long as necessary."

Eneko Andueza, alongside the five socialist councilors of the Basque Government, participated in an event to review the two years of the legislature in Euskadi, within the framework of the coalition agreements with the PNV, initiated 11 years ago.
He recalled that "eleven years ago we signed agreements with the PNV, that formula for success in which the PSE has all the protagonism, which makes it possible for all governments to have progressive policies guaranteed," Andueza opined.
Being a successful formula, "the PSE will be in that formula for success for as long as necessary. It is such a successful formula that even Bildu wants to join, but we strongly suspect it is only to gain power," he stressed.
Regarding the two years of the Basque legislature, Andueza asserted that "we can and should be proud" of the management carried out: "Our councilors are doing a really good job. I had no doubts back in June 2024, when we negotiated the composition of the coalition government, but today, it must be said, I believe we have met expectations."
Andueza insisted on the importance of providing stability to institutions to generate wealth and prosperity, and emphasized the socialists' outstretched hand in achieving agreements for the benefit of Euskadi.
"Our willingness to collaborate is above some differences," he stated, citing as examples the agreements reached on the Urgent Measures Law on Housing, the tax reform in the three General Assemblies, and Line 4 of the Bilbao Metro.
Andueza admitted that there will be disagreements with the PNV, "in which the PSE will never stop saying what it thinks, but the important thing is collaboration."
For instance, regarding the main current divergence, the requirement of Basque language proficiency for access to public service, he stressed that the PSE "will never let Basque be a barrier to workers' rights."
"We will prevent an attempt to impose one way of understanding Basque on a part of society," he stated regarding the PNV and Bildu's attempt to reach an agreement on Basque language requirements in the Administration. "We will defend that Basque is not a barrier to rights, but part of our identity and our culture," he concluded.
