The event will offer over a hundred free activities, including 50 'txokos' (corners), 80 workshops, educational tours, conferences, exhibitions, and shows, accessible on a first-come, first-served basis. This year, special attention is given to the inclusion of individuals with functional or cognitive diversity and socially vulnerable groups.
Registration for workshops and educational tours in Bilbao (Bizkaia Aretoa), Donostia/San Sebastián (Tabakalera), and Vitoria-Gasteiz (Museo Bibat) will open on October 26th via the Zientzia Astea website. For children's and family workshops in Barakaldo, registration will be available from the same date through the Barakaldo City Council's electronic office, by phone (94 478 9552 / 94 478 9485), or at municipal cultural and social centers.
Although the official program begins on November 3rd, some preliminary activities are already underway. Notably, on Friday, October 30th, the concert-narration "Una voz, mil voces", exploring the relationship between mathematics and music, will be performed at the Bilbao Conservatory of Music.
Among the highlighted proposals is the outdoor exhibition "Science and Art for Everyone" in front of Bizkaia Aretoa in Bilbao, offering audio descriptions and tactile exploration of scientific images. In Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Bibat Museum hosts "The Explorer of Scientific Infographics", featuring works by artists like Fernando G. Baptista.
The traveling exhibition "Science in the Street" will tour various towns to bring research closer to everyday life beyond the main cities. The Zientzia Club will continue in its four locations, where UPV/EHU researchers will use humor and spectacle for science dissemination.
The organization collaborates with the Department of Science, Universities and Innovation of the Basque Government, the provincial councils of Álava and Gipuzkoa, and the City Councils of Bilbao, Barakaldo, San Sebastián, and Vitoria-Gasteiz, among other institutions.
