The play-off dream is becoming increasingly distant for Sestao River and Amorebieta, who are tied as seventh and eighth in Group II of Segunda Federación, with only three matches left in the regular season.

Currently, both Sestao River and Amorebieta are seven and eight points, respectively, behind the play-off positions, which are held by Utebo (fifth) and Tudelano (fourth). With only nine points left to play for in the regular league, both teams would require a near-miracle to finish the season among the top five.
The situation is further complicated by an Amorebieta-Sestao River match scheduled for the penultimate round. This means both teams would need to win all their remaining games, while simultaneously hoping that either Tudelano or Utebo fail to secure any victories in their final three fixtures.
Sestao River might hold onto a slim chance of having options until the final matchday, when they will host Utebo at Las Llanas. However, the current scenario is extremely challenging for both teams, who have experienced numerous errors and setbacks in their pursuit of the promotion play-off. Neither team has met expectations this season.
Sestao River, who will host Basconia on Saturday, faces the last three matchdays with only one victory in their last ten games. Meanwhile, Amorebieta, set to visit league leaders Real Unión on Saturday, suffered another setback last Saturday with a 1-2 loss against Gernika, despite having secured three wins in the previous four rounds.
Gernika, who rediscovered victory at Urritxe after ten matchdays, shares a similar league position with Basconia. Both teams are eight points above the relegation play-off zone, currently occupied by Ejea. Despite a noticeable dip in form during the second half of the season, the team from Bizkaia, mathematically out of the play-off race as they are ten points behind fifth place, approaches the final three matchdays with their objectives largely achieved. After hosting Tudelano on Saturday, Gernika will visit Basconia and conclude the season at home against Alavés B.
