Getxo City Council will allocate 214,000 euros to support cultural associations, incorporating for the first time specific aid for the acquisition of Basque dance and choral music costumes.

This year's call for applications introduces a significant novelty: the creation of specific aid for Basque dance and choral music associations, intended for the acquisition of artistic costumes. Furthermore, within the ordinary subsidies, a new line has been added to cover mobility expenses for activities carried out outside the Basque Autonomous Community.
The ordinary subsidies will have a budget of 179,000 euros, aimed at supporting the activity of non-profit cultural associations in Getxo. Specifically, they will serve to finance the usual programs, events, and activities they carry out throughout 2026. The main condition is that the associations must be based in Getxo and be registered in the corresponding official registries.
On the other hand, the 35,000-euro subsidy for artistic costumes is specifically aimed at choirs and Basque dance groups, with the purpose of protecting and disseminating intangible heritage. In this case, purchases made from January 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, can be financed.
Applications must be submitted electronically through the Getxo Kultura e-headquarters. Interested parties can consult all the bases and details on the municipal website, and should note that the deadline is June 8.
Additionally, the associations benefiting from the aid must duly justify the expenses. In the case of larger subsidies (exceeding 36,000 euros), all invoices must be submitted; in other cases, a detailed list of expenses and justification of at least 10% of the aid granted will be required. The deadline for submitting this documentation will be January 31, 2027.
