The Ertzaintza has initiated an investigation into a new stabbing incident in Bilbao La Vieja, where a 33-year-old man was injured and transported to Basurto Hospital, with efforts underway to identify the assailant.

Stabbings continue to occur in Bilbao. This Saturday, just hours after a young man was arrested for seriously wounding another man, the Ertzaintza has opened an investigation into another similar incident that took place this afternoon in the Vizcayan capital.
According to the Security Department of the Basque Government, an alert was raised after 3:00 PM regarding an injured man in the Bilbao La Vieja area. The victim, a 33-year-old Spanish national, sustained several stab wounds and was subsequently evacuated to Basurto Hospital.
Immediately, the Ertzaintza launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the altercation and to identify the perpetrator of this assault.
In a separate incident at the exit of a bingo hall, a 23-year-old man of Maghrebi origin was arrested and accused of attempted homicide. The arrested individual stabbed his victim, another 31-year-old Maghrebi man, three times. The victim was rushed to Cruces Hospital in serious condition. These events occurred last Thursday night, with the arrest made on Friday afternoon.
