Egaz Txorierri has concluded the first phase of its Employment and Local Development Plan, focused on the region's diagnosis and analysis, with the celebration of a focus group on October 22.

The meeting allowed key regional stakeholders to contrast the diagnostic results and complete a participatory process that has identified 12 challenges to connect economic development, employment, and local roots in Txorierri.
This initial phase was developed through data analysis, interviews, questionnaires, and various participation spaces with companies and socio-economic agents. The work, promoted by Egaz Txorierri in collaboration with the six town councils of the region and the Txorierri Services Mancomunidad, has provided a shared vision of the region's main needs, capacities, and opportunities.
The diagnosis reflects Txorierri's uniqueness, with a high concentration of economic activity and employment, a strong industrial and technological fabric, and numerous training resources. However, it also identifies challenges requiring a coordinated response, such as improving the alignment between professional profiles and company vacancies.
The main results and the 12 identified challenges will be presented to the Basque Government on October 30. Subsequently, the second phase of the plan, focused on defining objectives and strategies, will begin.
The aim is to advance towards a shared, realistic Employment and Local Development Plan adapted to Txorierri's needs, contributing to better employment opportunities, strengthening business competitiveness, and fostering the region's economic and social development.
