The Zornotza City Council, in collaboration with the municipalities of Basauri, Getxo, and Leioa, and with the support of the Bizkaia Provincial Council, has initiated the call for proposals to select the curatorial team for the BOSTEKO 2026 itinerant contemporary art exhibition, aiming to bring Basque art closer to the public.

The main objective of this initiative is to bring the work of Basque plastic artists to the public in an accessible and engaging way. As a first step, the selection process for the curatorial team of the itinerant exhibition has begun. The deadline for submitting proposals is May 13, as reported by the council in a statement.
Candidate projects must include various aspects, such as the exhibition concept, participating artists, selection of works, adaptation to spaces, calendar, communication strategy, and mediation plan. This call aims to select the curator who will design and coordinate the exhibition.
The chosen proposal will feature works by three artists, with at least four pieces representing each artist's style. One of the exhibition stops will be held at the Zelaieta Zentroa in Zornotza, specifically from November 3 to 27.
In the call, priority will be given to curators and artists from or residing in the Basque Autonomous Community. Additionally, value will be placed on artists being from Bizkaia and on proposals being innovative, including diverse disciplines to reflect the plurality of contemporary art.
