BilbaoArte Opens its Studios to the Public from April 14 to 16

The center will showcase its facilities and the working processes of resident artists, while also providing information on the new call for creation grants.

BilbaoArte will open its studios to the public on April 14, 15, and 16, offering a unique opportunity to discover the creative processes of its resident artists and learn about the 2026/27 production grants call.

The BilbaoArte center will open its doors to the public from April 14 to 16, inviting visitors to explore its facilities at Urazurrutia, 32. During these open days, attendees can get a first-hand look at the working processes, techniques, and ongoing projects of the resident artists, supported by the 2025/26 Production Aid.
Specifically, the creative processes of artists M.P. Benito, Manu Blázquez, Fátima Conesa, Blanca Castro Ponce, Juana García Pozuelo, Auritz Iñurrieta, Fermín Moreno, Antoine Nessi, Gareth Phillips, Laurita Siles, Amaya Suberviola, and Fernando Villena will be showcased.
On Tuesday, April 14, and Wednesday, April 15, BilbaoArte will be freely accessible to the general and specialized public. The studios will be open for visits from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with the artists present. Additionally, on Wednesday, April 14, at 6:00 PM, an informative session will be held regarding the 2026/27 Production Aid Call, with the registration period open until May 10.
On Thursday, April 15, at 6:00 PM, a guided tour of the workshops (sculpture, graphics, digital image, medialab, filming and photography, analog lab, audiolab) will be offered to showcase the technical resources available to resident artists and users of BilbaoArte. On April 15 and 16, morning slots will be dedicated to professional visits, either by invitation from BilbaoArte or upon express request via email at bilbaoarte@bilbao.eus.
Since its opening in November 1998, in the former municipal schools on Urazurrutia street in Bilbao's Bilbao La Vieja neighborhood, BilbaoArte has established itself as a leading art production center, not only in Euskadi but also internationally. Supported by the Bilbao City Council, the Bizkaia Provincial Council, and the BBK Foundation, the center has become a talent incubator, investing in the training of new generations of artists and promoting art as a vital cultural and economic driver.
