Bilbao Airport will offer 68 commercial destinations during the summer season, consolidating its growth and strengthening European and international connections through a route expansion strategy.

Bilbao Airport, also known as La Paloma, will reach 68 commercial destinations this summer, a figure that confirms the consolidation of its strategic growth. This number strengthens the airport's position on the European air map, consistently achieving passenger number records.
The airport's success is not coincidental but the result of a continuous strategy of route expansion, airline attraction, and frequency reinforcement. This has allowed Bilbao Airport to adapt to an increasingly fragmented demand, in a context where flying has become a common option for a majority of travelers.
Throughout the summer season, 26 airlines will offer regular commercial flights from Bilbao Airport. These include Aegean Airlines, Air Europa, Air France, Iberia, KLM, Lufthansa, United Airlines, Volotea, Vueling, and Wizz Air, among others. These companies connect Bizkaia with major European cities and international destinations.
The activity of the Hungarian airline Wizz Air has been particularly significant, increasing its presence with new routes such as Krakow and London Luton. Furthermore, it plans to expand its offerings with flights to cities like Milan, Venice, and Turin. At the national level, the route to Santiago de Compostela will resume in June, following the completion of runway regeneration works at the Galician airport.
In the intercontinental sphere, United Airlines maintains its direct connection with New York, a strategic route that reinforces Bilbao Airport's international positioning. This route had an occupancy close to 90% last summer, which has led to its continuation this year. Additionally, the arrival of Royal Air Maroc connects Bilbao with Casablanca, opening a direct route to North Africa.
