The PNV, holding representation in the municipalities of the Zona Minera (Abanto, Muskiz, Ortuella, Trapagaran, and Zierbena), has opposed the cuts to Bizkaibus services. As announced by the respective town councils, the jeltzale party has also submitted objections to the regional draft plan aimed at improving frequencies, connections, and territorial coverage throughout the region to "adapt the draft plan to the real needs of the citizens."
In the case of Abanto, the proposals specifically focus on reinforcing frequencies on Sundays and holidays, enhancing the connection with Bilbao, increasing services to the technology park, and extending the operating hours of line A3333, which links the municipality with Portugalete, Santurtzi, and ultimately, Metro Bilbao. For its part, Muskiz has centered its objections on strengthening the service during holidays and night hours, increasing frequencies to Bilbao, and improving the connection with Cruces hospital and the EHU (University of the Basque Country), as well as studying an effective shuttle to Metro Bilbao and enhancing inter-neighborhood mobility.
In Ortuella, they advocate for line A3340 to pass through the town center, providing a direct connection to Bilbao. They also propose adding new stops in Etxezuri and the Granada industrial estate, and extending the hours and frequencies of line A3333 on weekends, alongside reinforcing fare integration with Metro Bilbao. Similar requests are made in Trapagaran, in addition to maintaining strategic connections with Bilbao, Portugalete, Santurtzi, and the Right Bank, as well as bolstering university services. Furthermore, in Zierbena, they request that line A3321 maintain a thirty-minute frequency year-round, improve the connection of all neighborhoods with the Zona Minera, and incorporate certain departures from the beach on some lines.
