The mayor of Basauri, Asier Iragorri, has unveiled the new season at the Social Antzokia, set to feature theater, music, and circus performances from October to January 2027.

The mayor of Basauri, Asier Iragorri, has described the upcoming season at the Social Antzokia, running from October to January 2027, as "plural, accessible, contemporary, diverse, and committed to culture." The venue aims to be a "meeting point for emotion, reflection, laughter, entertainment, and coexistence."
Theater will remain the central focus, with a lineup that blends large-scale productions, historic companies, new stage languages, and shows designed for all age groups. Among the season's notable names are actress Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Rafael Álvarez ‘El Brujo’, Anabel Alonso, and Manel Fuentes.
The Social Antzokia will also host the company Els Joglars with their play ‘El retablo de las Maravillas’, marking their 60th anniversary. This significant event will be complemented by a special exhibition tracing six decades of the influential theater group's artistic journey.
On October 17, during the Sanfaustos festivities, the Social Antzokia will open its doors for ‘¡Qué fantástica esta fiesta!’, a theatrical celebration starring Maribel Salas, set to the music of Raffaella Carrá. The performance highlights the necessity of stepping away from reality.
Maribel Salas, who attended the presentation, praised the theater as "one of the most plural theaters that reaches the widest variety of audiences." She expressed her "satisfaction and gratitude" for participating in the Basauri festivities with a show that "represents an encounter with the community, with the town, and with the people, for enjoyment," using Raffaella Carrá's music as a "vehicle and engine to make us happy and joyful."
The venue is launching a new winter concert series aimed at young audiences, leveraging the space's versatility. According to Berta Montes, president of the Social Antzokia, the lineup includes performances by Modus Operandi, Mirari, Zilibito Records, and 48280, aiming to introduce new musical trends and foster cultural engagement for the youth of Basauri and Bizkaia.
The musical program also features ‘Maneras de Vivir’, a tribute to Spanish rock icons of the 80s and 90s. The programming reinforces the Social's commitment to Basque creation and the use of the Basque language, with productions such as ‘Nor naizen baneki’ by Artedrama and ‘Bi palillo eta karabina bat’, starring Aitziber Garmendia and José Ramón Soroiz. The Social Txiki cycle will offer theater, dance, and musicals for children and families.
Humor will also be a significant element with the established Social Comedy cycle and offerings from the company Corta el Cable Rojo and comedian Mikel Bermejo.
Another major announcement for the season is the arrival of the Grand Acrobatic Circus of China on December 19th, which will present the only performance in Euskadi during its national tour in Basauri.
