The meeting brought together municipal representatives, neighborhood associations, and mobility experts in Basauri. The goal was to share strategies for making urban spaces more livable by reducing vehicle presence and fostering community interaction.
The mobility director of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia announced the installation of 8 Bizkaibizi stations in the municipality, including locations in Basozelai, near the town hall, and at Ixatxak park in San Miguel. The new funding model will be fully covered by the Provincial Council.
Regarding road safety, the organization Stop Violencia Vial emphasized that sustainable mobility cannot be understood without safety. They highlighted the importance of road education and reducing traffic speeds to 30 km/h to minimize injuries in the event of accidents.
