Etxebarri has initiated a participatory project aimed at reconstructing the municipality's history through a collective timeline. This initiative seeks to gather new events, memories, and milestones that will help build the collective memory of the town.
The project aims to showcase Etxebarri's evolution, from its rural origins and early industries to its current status as a municipality with over 12,000 inhabitants. Citizens will have the opportunity to participate during the first half of November.
Contributions can cover various aspects of municipal life, including the evolution of the town, its neighborhoods, industry, sports, culture, traditions, facilities, or events of special significance to the community. After the deadline on November 16th, a specialized jury composed of Etxebarri residents will select approximately 25 to 30 milestones for the main timeline.
The timeline will be materialized as an artistic mural installed in an outdoor public space, serving as a hub for dissemination and encounter around Etxebarri's history. Additionally, a digital version and an informative publication featuring the milestones with brief explanations will be created.
The Etxebarri City Council encourages residents to participate in this initiative by sharing stories, events, or memories they believe should be included in the municipality's history. The participation period will be open from November 4th to November 17th, with proposals accepted online or in person at the SAC.
