The Basque Government, led by Lehendakari Imanol Pradales and First Vice Lehendakari and Minister of Culture and Linguistic Policy, Ibone Bengoetxea, has presented 'Jauzia Gara', the strategy to give a new boost to the social use of the Basque language.

At an event held at the Bilbao Exhibition Center, the Basque Government presented 'Jauzia Gara', the strategy to provide a new impetus to the social use of the Basque language. The initiative was led by Lehendakari Imanol Pradales and the First Vice Lehendakari and Minister of Culture and Linguistic Policy, Ibone Bengoetxea, and brought together approximately two hundred representatives from social, economic, educational, cultural, associative, and institutional spheres.
The Lehendakari emphasized the need for renewed responses to current challenges and stated that the path to strengthening Basque must be built through collaboration and shared responsibility. "We want to give a new boost to the revitalization of Basque and we must do it together, because otherwise it will not be possible," he affirmed.
The Jauzia Gara strategy will promote various actions, including the 'Basque Leisure Map' and the 'Plazara!' program in leisure and sports; a specific program for learning Basque among young people; the 'LANera' program in the workplace; and the 'Ate Berriak' initiative for newcomers to Euskadi, facilitating access to language resources as an element of inclusion.
Furthermore, the 'Euskararen Ahotsak' process will be launched, a broad social listening initiative to gather citizens' experiences, perceptions, and expectations regarding Basque. The aim is to better understand linguistic realities and build broader consensus to face future challenges.
The major milestone of this process will be the III Euskal Mundu Biltzarra (World Basque Congress), to be held in Bilbao in 2027, aiming to become an international space for reflection and collaboration for the future of the Basque language.
