The Bilbao Moda project, driven by the City Council and the Bilbao Centro association, organizes a series of actions to tackle the challenges and future of the fashion sector.

Bilbao reaffirms its commitment to remain a benchmark in the fashion world with the XVII Bilbao Fashion Week. This initiative, organized by the business association Bilbao Centro and the Bilbao City Council, aims to promote competitiveness, innovation, and talent in the fashion, design, and commerce sectors.
From November 10th to 24th, various conferences, meetings, fashion shows, and gastronomic experiences will take place. Among them, on November 10th and 12th, at the Ensanche Building, professional conferences will be held to address topics such as sustainability, digital transformation, strengthening commerce, and talent. Additionally, BISUBI and local design professionals will offer a live experience merging gastronomy and design.
On November 14th, at the Euskalduna Palace, Bilbao Centro will host its traditional Fashion Show, marking the start of the XVII Bilbao Fashion Week. During this event, the VII "Villa de Bilbao de la Moda" Award will be presented to the Bilbao designer Miriam Ocáriz.
Within the project, the Bilbao Moda brand has also promoted complementary actions, such as guided tours to discover fashion creation and retail spaces in the city, and exhibitions of local designers. Furthermore, a "BILBAO MODA" map has been published to locate creators' workshops and shops with their own designs.
Jorge Aio, manager of Bilbao Centro, and Kontxi Claver, Councilor for Economic Development, Commerce, Employment, and Tourism of the Bilbao City Council, presented the initiative. According to Aio, "Bilbao is a great fashion city" and "this alliance is a firm step to consolidate the offering". Claver, for her part, recalled the trajectory of the Bilbao Moda brand, which began in May and has gone through several phases.
On November 19th, the "Bilbao Modan Dago" initiative will highlight the connection between the city and fashion with a photo and video session along the estuary. On November 20th, the "Fashion Tourism" conference will be held at a hotel, showcasing the work of local creators and the city's commerce. Finally, on November 24th, the educational conference "Fashion, Image, and Accessories: Voices from the Sector" will take place, focusing on accessories and hairdressing.
