The 24th edition of Korrika concluded emotionally in Bilbao, but organizers from Urretxu and Zumarraga wish to recall the memorable experience lived in these towns. Despite unfavorable weather, the baton was carried to the next valley with the same strength and sentiment felt in Bilbao's streets.
Following the event, a festive atmosphere prevailed, and participants had the opportunity to enjoy hot chocolate and a day full of activities, once again demonstrating the strength of their community.
“"If we had to highlight something from this edition, it would be the participation itself."
The committee emphasized that this ecosystem would not have been possible without the dedication of all the agents and volunteers who worked within the Korrika Committee. This includes those who participated in organizing the Korrika Kulturala to build momentum, and the volunteers who worked selflessly in various areas on the day of the Korrika itself.
Organizers reminded that although this edition has ended, the commitment to the Basque language and culture must remain strong. Judicial attacks against Euskera and the notable decrease in its street usage show that much still needs to be done, but they are confident that with everyone's contribution, progress will continue.
