Legazpi celebrated Santikutz Eguna today, with a vibrant atmosphere filling the town's streets from early morning. Music played a central role, starting with a parade by the Goiz Deia txistulari group and continuing with melodies from the Ezpelur dulzainero group from Pamplona.
Following annual tradition, a procession of the Holy Cross of Mirandaola took place at the church entrance, accompanied by txistularis and ezpata-dantzaris. Afterwards, a Main Mass was held at the Main Church of the Assumption, enlivened by the songs of the Santikutz choir.
One of the day's main activities was the presentation of the Olaria award at 12:00 PM. The award recipients and the Municipal Corporation proceeded from the Town Hall to Euskal Herria square, where the Legazpi Ezpata-dantza event was performed by the Sustraiak Dance Group.
“"To acknowledge the work done in promoting training and social values."
This year, the Judo Legazpi club received the Olaria award, as stated by the mayor, in recognition of “its work in promoting training and social values.” On behalf of the club, two representatives accepted the award and expressed their gratitude for the support received from citizens and institutions.
