The Argi Berri association has organized the 35th edition of the Lazkao Txiki Bertso-paper Competition to commemorate the centenary of the birth of the bertsolari Joxe Miel Iztueta, and will include a prize for the best work from Goierri.

This year marks 100 years since the birth of Joxe Miel Iztueta, known as Lazkao Txiki. In his honor, the Argi Berri association has organized the 35th edition of the Bertso-paper Competition, aiming to continue promoting Iztueta as a model of bertsolarism.
The competition will be divided into three categories: children (up to 13 years old), youth (between 14 and 18 years old), and adults (born in 2007 or earlier). Each participant may submit as many bertso-paper as they wish. Children must write between 2 and 4 verses, while youth and adults must include between 8 and 12 verses per bertso-paper.
The meter and melody of the verses will be free in all categories. For youth and adults, the theme can also be chosen freely, but children must write on the theme 'Lazkao Txiki 100 years'. Works must be sent to the Argi Berri association's email address before July 1st.
The verses submitted to the Lazkao Txiki Bertso-paper Competition must be original, unpublished, and not have been awarded in other contests. Works will be signed only with a pseudonym, and all author data must be sent in a separate document within the same message. The awards ceremony will take place on September 6th, as part of Ordizia's Euskal Jaiak.
The top three classified in each category will receive cash prizes ranging from 50 to 500 euros, in addition to a 'Txiki'. As a novelty, this year there will also be a prize for the best work from the region in each category, consisting of a 50-euro voucher to purchase products from the 'puntutan' bertsolarism clothing brand. The jury will be organized by the Argi Berri association with the approval of the Ordizia City Council.
