The Lazkao Ikastola today presented the videoclip for the Kilometroak festival song, coinciding with the start of local festivities, and celebrated the tenth anniversary of Kantujira, in a festive atmosphere.

A festive atmosphere has taken over Lazkao, with the Lazkao Ikastola playing a central role. In the morning, the videoclip for the “ibili-ibilian buelta” song of the Kilometroak festival was presented. This was followed by the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Kantujira, an initiative held every Friday. In the afternoon, before the launch of the txupinazo marking the start of the local festivities, the videoclip was screened again.
The Ikastola management stated that this year the festival in support of Ikastolas will return to its place of origin 50 years ago, and with this song, they “invite everyone to participate in this great festival.” The Kilometroak song was created by bertsolari Amaia Agirre and composer Xabier Zabala, with Agirre providing the lyrics and Zabala the melody.

"Agirre has perfectly succeeded in giving meaning and depth through words to this project that we present today with great enthusiasm."

Several well-known musicians also participated in the song, including Iñigo Etxezarreta from the group ETS, Ane Negueruela from Nøgen, Xabi Solano, and Alaitz eta Maider. Alaitz Telletxea, a trikitilari and teacher at the ikastola, emphasized that this song is not just a melody, but “also a reflection of our community and our values,” and will help them pave the way forward.
The videoclip was produced by Aztarna productions, composed of Mikel Balerdi and Deñe Garcia-Bravo. The Ikastola aimed to give prominence to the citizens of Lazkao, and for this reason, other local entities participated, such as the Lazkao Txiki music school, the Oin-Arin dance group, and the Lazkao big-heads and giants troupe.
The Kantujira initiative takes place every Friday morning in Lazkao, where students and teachers, along with local agents, sing various Basque songs in the town square. The objective of this initiative is to promote the knowledge and transmission of the Basque language and culture. Since its launch 10 years ago, it has grown week by week, and ikastola representatives noted that today's Kantujira was “more special,” as all ikastola students participated in the presentation of the Kilometroak 26 song and videoclip.
