The Ormaiztegi cyclist, who recently turned 37, has confirmed his participation in the Tour de France with Team Cofidis, marking his last season in professional cycling.

Team Cofidis has announced that Ion Izagirre, the cyclist from Ormaiztegi, will participate in the Tour de France. This will be his final professional season, as he announced last year. It will be his 12th appearance in the world's greatest tour, with this year's edition starting on July 4 in Barcelona.
The rider from Ormaiztegi has had an excellent start to the season. On April 4, he won the Miguel Indurain-Estella Grand Prix, and the following week he performed very well in the Itzulia Basque Country, finishing fourth in the general classification. Additionally, he placed seventh in Paris-Nice and has shown competitive form in the Ardennes Classics.
Izagirre has previously secured two stage victories in the Tour de France, the first in 2016 and the second in 2023.
