The GO07 bus line, which connects Urola Garaia and Goierri with Donostia, has successfully completed its first year of operation, registering 365,197 journeys and an average of over 1,000 daily trips.
This new public transport service, launched by the Provincial Council on April 28, 2025, has been met with great enthusiasm. The provincial official for Mobility, Tourism, and Territorial Planning, alongside the mayor of Zumarraga, presented the data at the town's intermodal station, emphasizing the line's “resounding success.”

"It shows us how necessary a public road transport connection linking these regions with the capital was."
The provincial official detailed that 35% of travelers are young people. In the first three days of April, 2,325 journeys were recorded, rising to 12,254 in May. This figure almost doubled in July, reaching 22,801 trips, and in August, the 30,000-journey mark was surpassed for the first time, with 32,388. In September, coinciding with the start of the school year, monthly journeys exceeded 40,000, and October saw the highest usage with 41,081 trips. Since then, usage has remained stable, averaging over 35,000 journeys, except during holiday periods.
Regarding the origin of the journeys, 171,191 departed from Donostia, accounting for 46.9% of the total. This is followed by Beasain with 74,095 journeys (20.3%), Zumarraga with 55,944 (15.3%), Ordizia with 43,249 (11.8%), Tolosa with 14,137 (3.9%), and Legazpi with 6,581 (1.8%). It is worth noting that in Legazpi, initially not planned as a stop, two round trips were enabled from May of last year.

"With the launch of GO07, we have met a historical demand from the residents of Urola Garaia and Goierri, who finally have a public road transport alternative that is not only sustainable but also comfortable, affordable, and adapted to their real needs."
The provincial official added that 2,012 service reinforcements have been implemented during this period, with October (310), March (266), and February (258) being the months with the highest number of additional buses. This line has marked a before and after for many people who previously relied almost exclusively on the train for connections to the capital, helping to reduce private vehicles on the congested N-I.
The mayor of Zumarraga thanked the Provincial Council for “once again listening to the demand from inland Gipuzkoa, a historical demand.” He added that “the data confirm and support that this service should have been implemented long ago, but it has only been possible thanks to the current management.” He highlighted that the line has facilitated transport for young people, university students, and workers traveling to Donostia, representing “another step in the democratization of public transport and an advance towards more sustainable mobility.”
