The Galilea bar, once a spot for 'pattar' consumption and card games, has been transformed into a temple of sport and rock in Legazpi, and will host a boxing festival this Saturday.

The Galilea bar, which was once a meeting point for 'pattar' and card games, has become a temple of sport and rock in Legazpi. Its walls are adorned with photographs of local athletes and club flags, and it also hosts rock concerts. While space is made for all sports, boxing holds a special corner, as Galilea serves as the official headquarters for the local club Eraztunbox.
The club has presented the boxing festival, scheduled for Saturday, June 8th, at the Beloki pilotalekua, from this venue. The event will commence at 8:00 PM, preceded by the boxers' weigh-in at 6:00 PM, held within the bar itself. A total of nine bouts are scheduled.

"Boxing doesn't have a good reputation, but it has values. It helps integrate many young people. Aitor Abel is doing a very good job. They are giving young people the opportunity to practice sports, and we see them training in the street."

Mikel Serrano · Mayor of Legazpi
Among the participating athletes is the professional boxer from Biscay, Erlantz Tejada. Additionally, Ekaitz Jaunarena and Gabriel Moreno from Zumarraga, along with Xuban de Lera from Ordizia, will also compete. Tickets are available for purchase at the Galilea, Aitube Berri, and Urzubi bars. Visitors will be able to park their cars in the courtyard of the La Salle-Legazpi school.
At the presentation event, Mayor Mikel Serrano, Aitor Abel, head of Eraztunbox, and Roberto Corona and Jose Luis Zelaia, representatives of Euskobox, were in attendance. Serrano highlighted boxing's role in youth integration and praised Abel's work, as well as Euskobox's support in making the festival possible.
