The Beasain Town Council has initiated the official leisure and free time monitor course on October 3rd. This initiative offers young people the opportunity to obtain a title homologated by the Basque Government, as well as to expand their job prospects in educational leisure activities in Basque. The training will take place in the municipality itself until May.
In the first session, the mayor of Beasain, Leire Artola, and the Councilor for Youth, Olatz Arrese, greeted and congratulated the participants on behalf of the council. Students, instructors, and municipal representatives took a group photo during this first session, conducted in collaboration with the association Hezten.
This year, 24 young people (18 of them from Beasain) are participating in the course. The initiative allows young people to receive quality training without having to travel. Until May 29th, students will complete 150 theoretical hours and 160 practical hours to obtain the official title of 'Children and Youth Leisure Monitor'.
The council has two main objectives: firstly, to promote the use of Basque in educational leisure and, secondly, to provide young people with a practical and homologated resource for employment. To this end, the Beasain Town Council maintains a 50% discount on tuition fees for students registered in the municipality.
With this group photograph, the council marks a new milestone within its youth and Basque language promotion initiatives, highlighting the course's consolidation and success in recent years.
